For one reason or another, modern video games seem to have had issues with delivering well-crafted endings. So what endings do you think have stood out among recent games? What stuck the landing?
Well, we've already compiled two different lists of hidden gems from two different gaming services, but that's barely scratching the surface. What do you think are some of gaming's best hidden gems and cult classics that deserve more attention, and why? Small indie games? Old-school classics forgotten to time? Let us know with as many as possible that pop into your head.
With the advancements in technology and growing landscape, some series we grew up loving have been lost to time. Therefore, if one series or game could be brought back to life with a new entry, now for the modern age, what would it be?
People keep making movies about video games. They're fun and all, but there are some things about specific games that just wouldn't do well in a film, or at least wouldn't capture the same magic as they do in the games.
Many games from the 90's and 00's had so much potential, but due to their time, were limited in their scope. Be it the graphics or mechanics, there are some titles that are just begging to be remade for a modern audience. Which games would you like to see?
When a character is done right by an actor/actress, they can go down in history as one of the best performances ever. Video games have had their fair share of amazing jobs from talented VAs. However, which performance from a game stands out to you as one of the all-time greats?
With Hardcore Gamer once starting out as humble gaming magazine, we'd like to know what some of your favorite gaming publications of yore are. Electronic Gaming Monthly? Nintendo Power? Edge? Or any classic TV shows about games? Sound off, and let us know about any fond memories.
Having access to PS1 titles is nice and all, but you can play more day-one titles on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Ultimate gives you PowerWash Simulator too, which everyone knows is the best game in the universe.
Warhammer 40K is easily one of the most expansive fictional universes out there, so adapting it into a live-action series is bound to be challenging even for a massive lore nerd like Henry Cavill. Where would you start if you were in his shoes? Would you go all the way back to 30K and attempt to tackle the Horus Heresy, or maybe try to adapt some of the most well-known book series like Eisenhorn, Dawn of Fire, or Gaunt’s Ghosts? Let us know down below! And while you’re at it, tell us which character you think Henry Cavill will end up playing in Amazon’s upcoming 40K series.
Koei has made musou games for a lot of properties — Zelda, Fire Emblem, Gundam, Berserk, and so on. Since the Dynasty Warriors dev team has been very open concerning wanting to make musou about American film franchises like Star Wars, which IP do you think would suit it best?
Gaming history is littered with a lot of interesting projects that, for one reason or another, ended up getting the axe. Be it nearly completed 16-bit titles that were canned at the last minute, more modern titles that got scrapped to money issue or conflicting visions, or even concept that never got past the design phase, what are some of these games that should have actually seen the light of day?
We all have that one game we return to over and over. Whether it’s for comfort or grabbing that 100% completion rate, we’ll sink a LOT of hours into a game if we like it enough. So, what is that game for you and how many hours have you played it for?
As much as we love our gameplay and story, it’s the characters that sometimes keep us engaged. Bringing them to life are some highly-talented voice actors and actresses, who have entertained us for years. For you, who is your favorite game voice actor/actress? (And bonus points if you can name some of their roles!)
There have been some big successes for movie and show translations of video games lately (The Last Of Us, Fallout, and The Super Mario Movie for example). When done right, they are amazing. Which games do you think would be great as a show or movie?
Obviously "Legend of Zelda" sounds way cooler to say than "Legend of Link." But for the majority of games, you're going on adventures, fighting versions of Ganon, and being a legend as Link. He deserves his time in the sun. Or at least in the franchise title.
Because hype for Grand Theft Auto VI, Doom: The Dark Ages, Wolverine... that's easy! We want to hear what you think will be the best new IP in gaming, be it indie, AAA, double-A, a smash hit, or just a damn good game in general, et cetera. What are your upcoming highlights? And don't be afraid to list multiple answers. Some of us at HG have the lengthiest wishlists of new IPs possible, after all.
In my opinion, the most overrated moment in NA LCS history is Doublelift's Lucian play. Fine, he's kiting a bit and lands his ult well, but any gold and above player who mains Lucian could do the same. There's nothing extraordinary mechanically in that play. Sure, he survives while everyone tries to go at him, but he's sitting behind Taliyah's wall and two tanks (Hauntzer and Svenskeren), and Impact doesn't even try to ult him with Gnar. There's nothing spectacular in the play, and I don't understand the hype. Everyone seems to think it's because of the setup, but it's not even game 5.

There's a Madden NFL 25 released in 2013 for the 25th anniversary of the series and a Madden NFL 25 released in 2024 as the actual, sequential, Madden NFL 25. How do you feel about there being two games in the series with the same exact name? Do you wish the original NFL 25 would have stuck with the traditional numbering? Is it confusing or easy to note the difference?
In your opinion, what makes a gamer truly hardcore? Is it time spent playing games? Reaching a certain level in an MMO? Defeating difficult levels and bosses? Ranking high in a ranking system against other players?
Millions of gamers play in all different ways, and many believe they are "hardcore". So... what is your definition?
