Quick Links
Whether it’s cutting down long grass or stripping away the backs of bugs, every part of the Grounded 2 kingdom is used in some way or another. The same can be said about some unsuspecting components we take for granted in our world. Acorns, a key food for specific animals such as squirrels, work as a surprisingly solid building tool when you’re small. It’s strong, sturdy and there’s and infinite supply in the world, at least if you can find them. Like many of the materials, you will actually need to locate them before starting to build, but thankfully we know exactly where to go.
Early on in the campaign, Acorns are some of the most valuable resources in the world of Grounded 2. They are a key component to crafting a Hatchery, the first real step in unlocking mounts, which makes the game significantly more enjoyable. Unfortunately, Acorns aren’t exactly the most plentiful of resources; they’re definitely not at the level of Grass or Sap.
Fortunately, where the Acorns are located is not only close to the early stages of the story, but also in a very reasonable place. Because Acorns are grown on trees, you can find these tasty treats (at least for squirrels), below the giant tree in the south.
Progress south of the first main base (and first Ominent facility you come across), and you will come across various Mites and Dry Grass. Continue through the wide pathways, and you’ll find these large Acorns ready to be harvested. These can only be utilized if you have the Omni-Hammer, which once again can be acquired at the first Ominent facility.
Be cautious when venturing into this region, though. While the tree houses quite a few Acorns beneath it, it’s also ripe for Orb Weaver spiders. These things are everywhere you go, with some of the bigger ones roaming around, as well.
What Can You Make with Acorns?
Acorns are some of the most used items in Grounded 2, at least if you take into consideration the various structures. Without doubt, the biggest and most important craftable item you can use these Acorn parts on is the Hatchery. As mentioned before, this is used for unlocking mounts, and the whole process of hatching a mount is part of the main story.
These are not only key companions that will help you with your storage needs, but they can fight off stronger enemies, get you further into specific regions and just overall traversal is a lot faster. They aren’t the only thing to utilize Acorns, though.
